The House will meet in Pro Forma session at 5 p.m. Senate: July 29, Committee on Foreign Relations, hearings to examine the nominations of Earl Matthews, of Alabama, to be Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco; John Giordano, of Pennsylvania, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Namibia; Michel Issa, of Florida, to be Ambassador to the Lebanese Republic; and Sean O’Neill, of Virginia, to be Ambassador to Thailand; and the nomination of Julie Stufft, of Ohio, to be Ambassador to Kazakhstan, all of the Department of State; 10:30 a.m., SD-419.

Democrats will hold a virtual caucus today on the fight for fair congressional redistricting, and Minority Leader Jeffries tells NPR he plans to connect with District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser about Trump’s attack on her locally elected government and the police takeover. He says the Democratic caucus will back her efforts to defend the city’s sovereignty and integrity.
